The Apprentice comes to The Work Shop

You're-hiredWith the UK national average unemployment figures reported at 7%, recruitment firm The Work Shop aim to get Dorset and Hampshire back to work with their very own apprenticeship scheme. The Work Shop are on a mission to find a very special Apprentice and are looking to the future in skills and development by running a bespoke apprenticeship scheme. Their aim is to find the perfect person who wants a career in recruitment and be trained to the highest level by the very best in the business. For the first time ever, The Work Shop plan to hire an Apprentice and train them to their own high standards. Phil Harmsworth says, “We will be going out in search of the perfect Apprentice, someone who shows the ability and enthusiasm to want to learn everything there is to know about how the recruitment industry works, and eventually how to run their own recruitment office, as well as become a business professional.” The Work Shop’s new apprenticeship role is totally unique, there has never been a role like it before and it will be an amazing opportunity for the ideal person to be trained by highly skilled professionals with more than 40 years’ experience. The Apprentice will be exclusively chosen from candidates across the South West region and this will open up a full time position following 12-18 months of training (although this does depend on their aptitude and abilities) at one or both of The Work Shop’s offices. The Apprentice will receive in-house and external training and The Work Shop will invest time, effort and money into the training period. (read more)

AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS - NEW LEGISLATION

The Government have been preparing to introduce new employment legislation on 1 October  this year called AWR (Agency Worker Regulations). The basics of this legislation are to ensure that temporary staff are provided with some of the same rights as permanent members of staff. Primarily this includes pay rates, working conditions and holiday pay (although these are not all).

In order to prepare for the introduction of this new legislation The Work Shop is more than happy to explain more about what the legislation requires employers and employees to do and what information we require. If you would like to discuss any aspect of AWR or would like a copy of our information document please call us on 01425 489393 or email us at info@thework-shop.co.uk.
