Neil Taylor-Smith

Specialist Recruitment Consultant

Starting his recruitment career in the late 80s, Neil has worked in many markets from commercial to engineering and automotive. He is a senior, sales focused, recruitment professional whose successful career spans retained search, advertising and PSLs, and volume campaigns with local and national businesses. Having worked with Phil Harmsworth previously and sharing The Work Shop’s belief in working on a strong moral basis with clients and candidates alike, Neil comes on board to establish a UK wide Automotive division within the existing Work Shop structure. He will be responsible for new business development, maintaining and cementing key relationships and making sure that the new division mirrors the existing reputation of excellence. Paula Lester

Paula has always been at the coal face when it comes to looking after clients whether that be companies looking for staff or candidates looking for work. She provides  The Work Shop with vital, professional PA work, looks after our online marketing and, wearing her resourcing hat, searches out and identifies the very best candidates from the many job boards we utilise.

Steve Barber

Recruitment Consultant

Steve is starting his 14th year in Recruitment and that in depth experience means he is an accomplished recruiter that has slotted in seamlessly to working in The Work Shop team. He is dedicated and totally professional in his approach to satisfying clients and candidates alike. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Steve and his knowledge of both permanent and temporary placements means he is quickly becoming a mainstay of The Work Shop team. It came as no surprise to The Work Shop to quickly realise Steve knows everybody in the area!

Sammy Baker

Sammy has been with The Work Shop for 10 months now and has recently been promoted, after a very successful training period, to Recruitment Consultant. This well-deserved promotion is due to Sammy's hard work and her passion for the job. Sammy has shown herself to be a loyal and committed employee who really enjoys helping candidates find the right role and making sure all of The Work Shop clients are dealt with professionally and promptly. Going out of her way to ensure people are happy is second nature to Sammy which makes her an ideal Work Shop employee.

Debbie Surridge

Branch Manager

Debbie was introduced to the challenging world of commercial recruitment in 1987, and has enjoyed an exciting and varied career, taking her through different locations in both high street and independent agencies working within most industry sectors and leading to her running her own company. She has successfully found many people their ideal position by considering their experience alongside their future goals and matching these with her clients short and long term objectives. This has resulted in lots of happy and successful business relationships, with candidates becoming clients and clients becoming candidates, each receiving an honest, dedicated, passionate and approachable service. Debbie has taken over responsibility for the Poole branch and is determined to make it one of the best agencies in the area.

Lauren Harmsworth

Adminstrator/Resourcer

Lauren recently joined the team at The Work Shop and has settled in quickly bringing a welcome dose of youthful energy with her. Lauren has wanted to work in recruitment for several years and she recognises that she has to learn the basics and she is doing that very well. Her role, which includes making sure candidates are welcomed to the office, encompasses resourcing so finding good applicants for The Work Shop vacancies is a vital part of the role and she enjoys this element the most. Lauren eventually wants to become a Recruitment Consultant and if she continues the way she has started, that won’t take long at all!

Heather Ainsworth

Heather started her first job in recruitment in 2008 working as an Industrial and Driving Consultant in Worcester, West Midlands, and has never looked back. Coming from a sales and customer service background, she enjoys communicating with all levels of people; she is naturally inquisitive, and very straight talking and it is this that helps her best understand both her clients and candidates complex needs. She has a passion for Engineering and since relocating to Bournemouth in July 2010 she has built up extensive industry knowledge in the area. Her enthusiasm for the job combined with hard work and a professional approach keeps candidates and clients happy with her service, whether it is temporary or permanent.
